5. Schools & Youth Groups

All students must be aware of the rules and regulations of Killary before they arrive. These rules are to ensure your group has a safe environment in which to enjoy your stay with us.

Safety & behaviour

Any student found in possession of, or under the influence of alcohol will be sent home immediately at their own expense. (For senior students who are 18 this is up to the teacher’s discretion). Any student found in possession of, or under the influence of any illegal drug will be sent home immediately at their own expense.

All students must adhere to any safety requests made by the instructors on an activity session. Any failure to comply will result in the student being asked to leave the session or the session being stopped completely. We reserve the right to remove any student from all activities if their behaviour is deemed unsafe.

Students are not allowed off the premises unless supervised by a teacher or instructor.
Students are not allowed to leave their rooms after 11pm (all rooms are en-suite). The only time they may leave their rooms is if they need to contact the night supervisor.

Damage

Any damage to our property must be paid for. All students allocated to the same dorm room will be held equally responsible for any damage to a room. If nobody admits to the damage and it is clear someone from your school is responsible, the bill will be sent directly to the school. Please let us know before your stay if you would prefer responsibility for any damages to be allocated individually.

Personal property

We recommend that students do not bring any valuables with them. Students are responsible for keeping their own possessions safe and must make sure they take everything with them on departure. We recommend that each student brings a list of their possessions to help with this.

We recommend that teachers/leaders collect all valuables to be placed in a safe by our staff. Teachers/Leaders then assume the role of ensuring valuables are returned to each individual student.

We are not responsible for lost property and unfortunately cannot return items left behind.
Anything left behind will be recycled, donated to local charities, or disposed of on the day of departure.
