Social Media Strategist

THE ROLE 

We are looking for a knowledgeable Social Media Strategist to work in our busy marketing office. This role involves taking ownership of day-to-day social media presence across Killary Adventure Company group of brands for the 2026 season. This is an interesting and varied role working with a friendly team in a truly stunning location in Connemara, perfect for an individual who has a passion for social media and a keen interest in the outdoors and nature, who is driven by seeing conversions from online campaigns.  

The focus is on consistency, volume and quality of content across all platforms, making sure businesses are always active, visible and aligned with what is happening on the ground. 

The ideal candidate is an organised individual with the ability to prioritise tasks and with excellent time-management.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Owning and managing all social media accounts  

  • Planning and scheduling content weekly across all brands 

  • Capturing photo and video content across activities, accommodation, events and behind the scenes 

  • Creating and editing short form video (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) consistently 

  • Supporting longer form YouTube content where needed 

  • Posting in real time alongside scheduled content 

  • Managing comments, messages and general engagement 

  • Keeping all channels active, up to date and aligned with campaigns 

  • Identifying content opportunities on site day to day 

  • Building and maintaining a strong content library 

  • Supporting user generated content campaign 

  • Ensuring good communication internally between team members and other departments.  

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Confidence in taking full ownership of social media. 

  • Proven experience with META business suite.  

  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube 

  • Comfortable planning, scheduling and managing multiple accounts (META business suite experience needed)

  • Ability to create a high volume of content consistently 

  • Quick, proactive and able to react to what is happening on the ground 

  • Good eye for content and storytelling 

  • Comfortable working with teams and guests and being out capturing content on the ground.  

  • Basic video editing skills (short and longer form) 

Required 

  • Fluent English is essential, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Punctual & reliable. 

  • High degree of attention to detail. 

  • Team working skills - working as part of a team is an essential part of this role. 

  • Ability to work on their own initiative. 

  • Experience of working in a busy fast paced marketing or office environment, 2 years minimum. 

 

Desirable 

  • An interest in the outdoors/adventure. 

  • Own transport with Full License 

 

Job Type: Seasonal Contract available May – November  

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday 

  • Weekend availability to cover company events 

  • 09:00 – 17:30 daily 

 

Work Location: In person. Leenane, Co Galway. Staff accommodation available on request, subject to availability
