Speedboat transfer to start/from end of famine walking trail. Experience Killary Fjord from the water (you may stop and check a lobster pot or mussel line along the way!), Walk the Famine trail, Optional visit to the Killary Sheep Farm (additional cost)
What is involved:
Enjoy the Killary Fjord from the water. The experience involves a speedboat transfer to the start or from the end of the Famine trail walk. During your boat transfer you will pass working mussel boats and mussel farm lines where you may stop to have a look at how they are grown and harvested, and you may even be lucky enough to see some Fjord natives... The dolphins!
This Famine trail follows the contours of the Killary Fjord passing old cottages, abandoned 'lazy beds' and the unrivaled beauty of Ireland's only Fjord. It is approx. 10Km between Rosroe & Killary Adventure Centre, where free parking is available.
Option 1: Boat transfer from Killary to Rosroe pier - Walk Famine trail - Leaves Killary Adventure pier 13:00
Option 2: Walk famine trail - Boat transfer from Rosroe to Killary - Leaves Rosroe pier 13:30
The boat trip is approx 20mins. It takes on average 2-3hours to walk the trail depending on your level of fitness.
