This past week in Killary has been a first as we had our very own wedding in the Adventure centre. A lovely couple called Cian and Claire took over the centre all weekend with their friends and family and had a great old party. The all arrived down on the Friday and did activities on the Saturday morning, before heading out to get married in the Connemara Lady. They then returned to the centre for a good old fashioned barbeque and music until all hours of the morning.
That was the glamorous side of it, the not so glamorous side was the week leading up to it. After along summer of kids summer camps and families there was a lot of work to do in the centre to get it back to its best. Don't worry though there was some down time as I headed out on the trampolines to try them out and to have fun in the water. I was again pleasantly surprised again as the water was very warm for the west of Ireland. Although the last swim I had was inside the arctic circle! anything is warm after this.
It is setting up to be a busy September as I am away to England next week for an connect meeting with the Adventure Trade Travel Association. It is a good opportunity to meet up with like minded souls and to share ideas about where the adventure industry is going, and how we are going to stay at the leading edge of it. Also I have my Yachtmaster offshore exam as I try to get more qualifications and therefore head out into the wilderness more. Anyway its a wednesday morning and tim eto get back to work. Today on the agenda is to put our wind turbine back up and also to fix our biomass boiler which is having a 'moment'.
