As the months keep on rolling so too do the developments and people here in Killary.  As part of the growth of the business going into the future we have recently purchased 80 acres of land beside our current location to allow us to grow and expand our offering.  This gives us another kilometer of sea frontage and lots of space for new activities.  Stay tuned for more info on this after our hectic summer is over and we can work towards developing these plans.

Its hard to believe that the days are getting shorter already, seems like only yesterday that we were facing into storm after storm over the winter months.  It has been a good summer so far even if the festivals are struggling with all the rain.  The chorus of birdsong at 5:30 in the morning is enough to wake you up.  Torn between loving the noise and cursing the little fellas for waking me up.

We were up in Donegal last week for our annual Gaelforce North adventure race, great time had by ourselves staying in Dunlewey and traipsing around Errigal, Glenveigh national park and everywhere in between.  The last weekend in May I also managed to squeeze in a weekend sea kayaking trip down to Kerry and around Slea head just past Dingle.  We camped in Dun chuin and headed out to the Blasket islands for a long days paddling where we managed to get in 3 of them before coming back to the mainland.  From here we headed of through Bally ferriter, the home of star wars, to the mahoree Islands.  Lovely day spent visiting all of these although limited landing  due to high rock ledges.  None the less it was a great visit to Kerry  and nice to see somewhere almost as beautiful as Connemara!!

Next up is the West of Ireland Offshore racing championship this weekend.  This is a 4 day event where the best crews and racers from the sailing clubs on the West coast compete in a different area every year.

I will report back on how we have done.
